To say that Nice-Cream is a family favorite in our home would be a MASSIVE understatement. It has become our permanent replacement for Ice Cream, since we are 90% dairy free, and this recipe is delicious and super simple to make.
DISCLAIMER… I must also share that I typically am not a huge fan of bananas or banana flavored anything. But I LOVE this recipe!
We use frozen sliced apple bananas, or it’s equally awesome with chunks of frozen mango.
Apple bananas are native here in Hawaii & are smaller & slightly less sweet than traditional bananas. If you’re using traditional bananas you may need to omit the milk all together.
It’s also very important that you FREEZE the banana slices prior to blending. Green tipped (not fully ripe) works best. However, this recipe works well with fully ripened bananas as well. (Just makes it sweeter)
As with all things moderation is key, but this is our go to frozen treat.
Nice-Cream INGREDIENTS:
3-4 Apple Bananas (sliced and frozen)
1 Tbs. Unsweetened Coconut Milk
Blend in Vitamix until smooth, thick, and creamy (be sure not to add too much milk)
Optional mix-ins that we love…
- Unsweetened Toasted Dang Coconut Chips
- Dark Chocolate Carob Chips
OR - Drizzle with Almond, Peanut, or Macadamia Nut Butter
