Glucose Test During Pregnancy: Healthy Alternatives

YOU HAVE A CHOICE…. and there ARE ALTERNATIVES!!!  Learn to be your own best advocate!!!

As discussed in this video you want to seek out alternatives that give you anywhere from 50-100 grams of sugar if you’re doing the GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test). Here are some alternatives.

  • 6 oz. Grape Juice = 30 grams
  • 9 oz. Apple Juice = 40 grams
  • Slice of Bread = 15 grams
  • cup of cereal = 30 grams
  • Banana = 20 grams
  • cup of milk = 12 grams
  • two slices of bread = 30 grams
  • 16 oz. Orange Juice = 40 grams

So for example you could use a Banana and Glass of Apple Juice and be good to go!
Another way to go that was mentioned in my video is Organic Jelly Beans that don’t use dyes. 28 Jellies is about equivalent to the sugar content in Glucola without all the other harmful additives. Personally not the way I would choose to go. (I’m picky about when I do decide to have sugar 😉 ) but a better alternative for sure.
What’s in “Glucola”?? Let’s take a peek…
As I share in my video… I don’t ingest and actively avoid putting most all of these in my body, so doing so voluntarily even for “one” isolated incident was worth seeking out alternative means for me.
Red Light ingredients for me…. Brominated Soybean Oil, FD & C Yellow #6, Corn, Wood Rosin… on second thought. The only thing I don’t mind in this is the water. hahahaha. 🙂
Really though friends just be YOUR OWN ADVOCATE and never worry about being open with your healthcare provider and discussing what you’d like to do with YOUR body.
There is a place for both Traditional medical practices and screenings, and more holistic practices. And THE BEST healthcare comes from you taking care of you NOW, and being an active participant in your health!!
Know better and you can DO BETTER!!
Please feel free to share this and/or pass along to anyone who may be expecting and benefit from what I share.
