Healthy Gut for Weight Loss & Better Immunity

Oh, goodness… the things I do in the name of health! 😳😂 Anyone tried GUT SHOTS before?!

True to form, whenever Mike returns from a deployment or being on a plane, he ALWAYS brings home the germy bugs with him.

So I’m bolstering up my daily intake of superfoods and throwing back gut shots, apple cider vinegar, and getting all my favorite essential oil blends going.

Did  you know the gut is often referred to as the second brain?!? AND having an unhealthy gut can actually hinder your ability to drop extra pounds AND fight off infection?!?


So what can you do to get and maintain a healthier gut biome?

FIRST: optimal gut health begins with your diet! Eat a balance of fiber (with veggies as at least 75% of your intake), healthy protein, and HEALTHY fats. Eat whole, unprocessed, unrefined foods! One of the best ways to maintain gut health involves cutting out sugar and refined carbs.

Good fats – including extra virgin olive oil, avocados, or almonds – improve healthy gut flora.

Avoid/remove inflammatory fats, like vegetable oils which promote the growth of bad bugs that cause weight gain and disease.

Lack of sleep and chronic stress also contribute to gut imbalance. So be sure to get 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep and remember to practice your favorite stress-reducing activities daily.

Supplement smartly! Take a GOOD omega 3 fatty acid supp & a probiotic supplement. This helps reduce gut inflammation while cultivating health and the growth of good bacteria.

Add more coconut. Studies demonstrate anti-inflammatory and weight loss benefits from adding Medium Chain Triglyceride or MCT oils. Some of my favorite fats, coconut oil and coconut butter, contains these fabulous fat-burning MCTs.

Add fermented foods. Sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, and miso contain good amounts of probiotics so your healthy gut bugs can be fruitful and multiply.

My personal daily regime ALWAYS includes my preferred superfoods blend that has pre and probiotics, and adaptogens, then I add my Omega 3 and MCT Oils to supercharge it.
