Pregnancy Journal & Bump Date: 37 Weeks

It’s Bump Day and in this final month, Ky & I have check-ups errrrrry week. Baby girl is STILL breech, but is growing, healthy, and looks super comfy in there and is approximately the size of Swiss chard.

I have been asked repeatedly behind the scenes how am I doing. Thing is… mentally and emotionally I’m FEELING great! Happy, surprisingly energetic, optimistic that she’ll flip, and super grateful that Mike is home from deployment.

That being said, I am in LOTS-O-Pain, friends. Sometimes so bad I can’t walk or my legs buckle. Not sure if its due to her position or because my pelvis is out of whack from my firstborn and the back labor I had then, but it’s round ligament and low back pain like I’ve never experienced before. But I was recently guided by a friend who does HypnoBirthing to replace the idea, thought, and word “pain” with “sensation.”

So in an effort to ease discomfort and channel all the good feels…  I’ve been having LOTS of “sensations.” 😉
I am not immune to the ALL that this last month of pregnancy entails. I too have the insecurities, emotional surges, aches, and pains.
But the piece that has transformed this pregnancy from my last has been my mindset. Yes, the workouts and eating right have helped immensely, but I wholeheartedly believe that what we FOCUS on expands and multiplies.
If I woke up every day focused only on how uncomfortable I am or how hard it is to even move or get up, then for the rest of the day that would be my filter for all my activities, and it would be carried with me in all I do.
Instead, I choose to feel the feels and DECIDE that they mean I’m growing a life and my body is doing what it needs to prepare for her arrival. I have a choice to resist it or be grateful for it and learn how to navigate it. Same was true in my first trimester when I was sick as a dog and needed to navigate life around that. And same is true about how we can tackle things even when we aren’t expecting and it’s just LIFE that we’re dealing with.
What we focus on expands and where that FOCUS GOES YOUR ENERGY FLOWS. So I consciously choose to focus mine on all the ways I can help myself and baby girl navigate these final weeks with gratitude and patience even when (especially when) I’m wickedly uncomfortable. 😊
When faced with a “sensations” today, be it physical, mental, emotional, or otherwise, my hope is that we can each choose to not give it our focus, and instead change what it means or how we go about dealing with it and practice more gratitude always.

Strength Training

Let’s chat strength training… this is one of the biggest differences I’ve implement with my second pregnancy that has made a WORLD of difference from my 1st AND all around with my fitness routines pregnant or NOT!!!

With Mac (my first) I almost exclusively did low impact and yoga. And for some this may be what’s needed (each body and pregnancy is different) .

But for me doing primarily strength training in my first and third trimester has helped me maintain muscle, a good metabolism, and feel more energetic and strong. (And that’s not just during pregnancy but all around)

I did do more cardio HIIT work in trimester 2, but only once I was out of the woods with my 1st trimester nausea, had more energy, and before I was “limited” in my range by my growing belly in trimester 3 🤰🏼😂🤷🏼‍♀️ .

This is an overview, but in my Rockin Your Bump Group and 365 Wellness Community I go into WAY more detail AND give you access to the EXACT Workouts I have done at each stage of the game. .

All are accessible where ever you have a wifi connection and I even go into meal planning recipes, mindset, and more. .

I’m SO thankful to have gotten to experience what a difference it makes to have a healthy, active, and strong pregnancy this go around and love sharing what’s working to help other mamas and mamas to be! .

I’m rapidly approaching week 38 and it’s just wild to me how much things change DAILY at this point. .

I am still working out daily. For no other reason than it helps me feel good and strong, have mental clarity, and I know I’m investing in my postpartum recovery by staying on top of my routine now. And to be clear… I modify A LOT, and listen to my body every step along the way. 🙌🏼😊
