This Christmas is my second as a parent, and I’m amazed at how having a child has given me a second chance to experience all the “child-like” magic and wonder of the season.
Christmas lights shine a bit brighter, giving makes my heart more full, and spending time with family means something even more special.
I have always loved the sites, smells, and sounds of Christmas, and this year I’m soaking up every second. Our decorations went up right after Thanksgiving, and I’m not looking forward to putting them away anytime soon.
My sugar bean was a newborn last Christmas, but this year she’s just old enough to start enjoying our Christmas traditions with us. It melts my heart to watch her dance to Christmas music, to see the amazement in her eyes at the sight of twinkling lights, and to have her snuggle with her daddy and I as we read her Christmas stories.
I’m looking forward to spending the holidays with my family in Arizona; sharing with Mac the traditions of my childhood and making new ones all of our own.
